Having a disorganized home can be overwhelming. Start small with a nightstand table or kitchen drawer. Once you accomplish a small project you will have the confidence to move on to a larger one like a garage or attic.
"One in, one out." The most important rule for maintaining organization is to reduce the amount of clutter that builds up over time. That guest room didn’t turn into a dumping ground over night. Everytime you buy new toys, clothing, knick knacks, etc. - throw out, donate, or sell something old that you no longer need or want.
In order to maintain an organized environment, make a habit of throwing out, donating, or selling (5) items everyday that no longer fit into your lifestyle.
Make an effort to allocate fifteen minutes a day to organizing. Fifteen minutes is a manageable amount of time for any person, and gives you the confidence to tackle any larger projects. If you can keep this goal daily, not only will you be able organize a once cluttered space-but you will learn to maintain an organized space! |
